Affordable migration to High Definition
Providing HDV with the 1080i Standard and joining the existing DVCAM range, the HVR-M10E compliments the HVR-Z1E camcorder to provide professional users with a compact Video Tape Recorder. Like the camcorder, the VTR supports the recording and playback of DV, DVCAM and HDV formats and incorporates a 16:9 colour LCD viewing screen. The compact VTR also benefits from both mains power and battery operation.

Through the HDV format Sony's HVR-M10E allows you to playback and record High Definition pictures on a standard DV format cassette - providing both a highly cost effective format and full 1080 line resolution.
Not just for HDV
With the Sony HVR-M10E, you are able to switch between DV, DVCAM and HDV recording and playback giving you full flexibility to record and review in either Standard or High Definition depending on your chosen footage.
Portable and Compact
The HVR-M10E is compact and light-weight in design and can be battery operated - making it extremely portable and convenient to use on location when a mains power source is not available.
Easy integration to the way you already work
Continuity of Workflow can be very important. Enjoying the benefits of the HVR-M10E does not mean that you need to change the way you work. Like DVCAM VTR's, a full range of connectivity is available for external devices including Composite In/Out, S-video In/Out, Component Out and i.LINK (IEEE1394). In addition, you can choose to convert your HDV footage with the in-built down-converter to output in Standard Definition if required.

Allowing you to make your productions on a worldwide basis, without the need for two separate camcorders with each standard.
Built-in 16:9 LCD Screen
The high-resolution 2.5" wide screen allows easy monitoring of pre-recorded footage without the need of a separate monitor.
Battery Operation
In addition to mains power operation, the HVR-M10E can also be operated by battery making it easy to use in locations where mains power is not available.
