Wohler Unveils Versatile New CD-1 Caption Video Monitor Adaptor |

Wohler Technologies Inc. today unveiled its new CD-1 caption and subtitle video monitor adaptor. The innovative CD-1 decodes and renders captions or subtitles for any digital video monitor to display, as well as de-embedding audio, conveniently allowing the operator to confirm the presence and accuracy of critical video, audio, and caption data using existing or low-cost monitors that lack caption display capability.
"As a compact and exceptionally simple solution for handling caption inputs and outputs, the CD-1 brings unique versatility to monitoring of the SDI stream across a broadcast plant or production facility," said Kim Templeman-Holmes, vice president of global sales and marketing at Wohler. Broadcast Pix™ will introduce Granite™, a native HD, 1080p-ready live video production system, at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 12-15 (Booth N4506). The new flagship product line for Broadcast Pix, Granite combines the company’s innovative Fluent™ workflow software with a new HD switcher and HD server, enabling users to create compelling live HD video at a price point unmatched in the industry today.
The Granite Switcher provides simultaneous multi-definition SDI I/O for 1080i, 720p, and SD sources – and is upgradable to 1080p, a higher quality emerging HD standard already found in monitors, routers, computers, and video cameras. The companion Granite Server completes the video production system by running Fluent workflow software, which provides up to 120 hours of clip store, a graphics system with a new Harris CG, a multi-view that displays video and file sources, watch-folders that streamline file import from editing systems, and macros for file-based effects.

SIS LIVE, Europe’s largest outside broadcast (OB) and uplink company, has awarded a key and exclusive contract for Broadcast Services, including technical equipment and diversified Production & Coverage services for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India, to South East Asia’s largest broadcast services company, ZOOM Communications Ltd. India. SIS LIVE won the prestigious contract to provide the Production and Coverage Facilities and Services, under the Host Broadcaster Assignment for the XIX Commonwealth Games being held in New Delhi from 3-14 October 2010.
SIS LIVE is contracted to provide the production in High Definition to cover the Games, the first time the event will be produced and transmitted in HD. The multi-million dollar contract involves up to 40 Production Areas and OB kits of various sizes, over 350 HD camera channels, 100 HD long lenses, 115 EVS hard disk recorders, as well as a wide range of specialist Production and Camera equipment. Dubai Media Incorporated Upgrades Sales and Scheduling Software |

Harris Corporation has announced that Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has renewed its Harris® Broadcast Master™ sales and scheduling software license. As part of the renewal agreement, DMI is upgrading to version 8 of the Broadcast Master software, which offers additional features to support the company’s future growth and transition toward a file-based workflow.
“We have been using Broadcast Master for five years, and we would highly recommend it as the perfect sales and scheduling solution with which to create a unified workflow,” said Hassan Chahine, chief technology officer, DMI. “Upgrading to the new version of the software future-proofs our investment in light of the major digital transformation we are undertaking at our facility. Our new monitor, OCM 404 W HD is mechanically a very compact device equipped with four 4.3 " (11 cm) wide screen OLED displays. With dimensions of only two rack units and a depth of approximately 2“ (48 mm) this monitor was constructed for the first time to house the OLED's within a monitor bridge.
