Miranda launches master control and channel branding systems |

Miranda Technologies is launching two low cost, high performance master control switching and channel branding systems at NAB (North Hall, 2515), called Imagestore-Modular+ and Imagestore-Modular.
Imagestore-Modular+ offers the full breadth of channel branding capabilities, including clip/animation playout for advanced graphics effects. This HD/SD processor can provide up to 80 minutes of clip playout for partial or full frame branding and promo graphics. It uses a space and energy efficient, dual card design, with up to four channels housed in a single 3RU Densite frame.
The processor is designed for pre-rendered graphics, and can provide up to five layers of keying. Three layers can be fed by internally stored stills/ animations, one layer is for clips, and one layer is for external graphics devices with fill/key outputs. Graphics capabilities include automated character generation and EAS insertion, as well as clock and temperature insertion. Other features include AB video mixing with 16 channel audio mixing, and 8 channel voice-overs with audio clip playback.

Eyeheight has completed a major order for Al Jazeera Sport in Doha, centred on 11 systems from the 'playout' range of modular presentation control equipment. The new installation forms part of a server-based ingest, post-production and transmission facility completed in just four months by Dubai-based Qvest Media in partnership with its German sister company Wellen+Noethen. The HD-SDI playout systems installed at Al Jazeera Sport include Eyeheight's MW-3EM A/B mixer which provides the ability to perform mix, wipe and cut transitions as well as U and V fades. The MW-3EM also has a preview output. A DK-3M linear downstream keyer handles background, key and fill inputs and supports normal keying, additive (pre-multiplied) keying, self-key and self-coloured keying. Also incorporated is an AP-10 manual intervention panel which enables engineering staff to choose the level of intervention they require for specific channels. Each of the 11 playout switchers is fitted with an AM-2E audio mixer which allows two digital audio sources to be mixed with embedded audio. The AM-2E is designed primarily for voiceover insertion into an SDI stream. All 11 playouts have an FP-10 module which provides overall system control. Click to view Full text |

The CDH 1811 yellobrik is ideal for converting any SDI video signal (up to 3Gbit/s 1080p60) into a standard HDMI signal for monitoring and display. It allows you to easily connect HDMI displays to SDI equipment.
This new yellobrik auto-detects inputs and formats supporting SDI video up to 3Gbit/s, includes balanced or unbalanced line level stereo analog audio outputs, as well AES outputs which can pass through DolbyE. VRT expands HD broadcasting capabilities |

Miranda Technologies announced that VRT, the national broadcaster in Belgium for the Flemish speaking community, is upgrading its broadcast facility to HD with Miranda’s NVISION 8280 Enterprise Class router.

Compact SDI to 1394 Video Field Converter Launched |

EDIROL have announced the VC-50HD - an innovative portable bidirectional SDI to 1394 video field converter.
The VC-50HD provides bi-directional conversion between SD/HD-SDI to/from DV, HDV as well as 35Mbps and 50Mbps MPEG-2 transport stream (TS). The unit also supports lower bit rates including 8Mbps as well as 2, 9 and 12Mbps when using with SD sources ideal for DVD, web or fixed-point observation applications.
The VC-50HD can be used standalone between video decks and PC/Macs or mounted on the back of the EDIROL F-1 Video Field Recorder for file-based capture from SDI cameras.
The VC-50HD offers flexible monitoring of the signal in the field using the HDMI output connected to an affordable display. Resolution types, MPEG-2 bit-rates, direction and SDI audio channel selection can be controlled with remote software via USB or dipswitches conveniently located on side of the unit.
