The new LM-503HD Multi-format Triple 5” Colour LCD Monitor is the latest addition to TV One’s growing range of Broadcast and Production LCD Displays and will be on display for the first time at the ISE 2010 Exhibition being held in Amsterdam.

The LM-503HD can accept a multitude of video signal formats that may be accurately monitored. The high brightness, wide viewing angles, excellent contrast ratio and high definition colour result in an outstanding image display. The unit features SDI inputs (either SD or HD) with an active output, Analog RGBHV, YPbPr Component Video, a Composite Video and a YC input. NTSC and PAL Television Standards are supported and automatically detected.

RTS is now showing the KP 12 CLD 12-position color display keypanel. The 1RU KP 12 CLD is the latest addition to the revolutionary CLD color keypanel series by RTS. The keypanel includes several cutting-edge features designed to enhance capability and ease of use. The instinctive graphic interface is housed inside two full-color 4.2 LCD displays. The front panel also features conveniences such as a user-programmable button, one-touch listen volume adjustment on each of the 14 new multifunction keys, and a backlit keypad. Like all RTS products, the KP 12 CLD is designed with expansion in mind. The front-mounted USB port and modular rear panel allow for future upgrades that will keep the KP 12 CLD on the forefront of technology for years to come.

Uppsala Bildteknik uses Hamlet Vidscope-BX for colour correction quality control

Leading Swedish film transfer specialist Uppsala Bildteknik has installed a Hamlet Vidscope-BX software based test and measurement system as part of its colour grading suite. Uppsala Bildteknik specialises in archive films, cleaning and repairing the fragile material before scanning to HD, and obtaining the best and most consistent colour and image quality is vital.

The Vidscope-BX is the latest version of Hamlets software suite of test and quality control tools. It runs on a standard Windows PC with a suitable video I/O board, making it an ideal and cost-effective way of accessing a wide range of high precision test displays. The software is fully customisable, allowing the operator to set the exact combination of test traces on the screen needed for each job.

Multiple wins for DK-Technologies at Seoul Broadcasting System

DK-Technologies is pleased to announce that South Korea’s Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) has purchased seven PT5300 HD-SD VariTime Sync Generators and three PT5211 VariTime Change Over Units. The sale was made in early November by the company’s local distributor, PI International.
 
The units were chosen by SBS, one of four major broadcasters in the country, following a competitive tender and are split between two new HD OB vans and one new HD-capable studio.

Reflecting its status as the world’s most advanced compact digital audio broadcast console, two Studer Vista 5 digital mixing consoles have been installed at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in Phoenix. The Vista 5 consoles are used as an integral part of the School of Journalism’s emphasis on real-world experience for its journalism degree program students. Housed in a 6-story, $71 million, 223,000-square-foot academic building located in downtown Phoenix, they are at the core of the School’s advanced broadcast facilities. One Vista 5 is used train students covering the J-School’s First Amendment Forum, used for town hall-type meetings, as well as events held in the Walter Cronkite Theater and for additional training in the student training studio.  The second Vista 5 mixer has been installed in the School’s state-of-the-art broadcast control room, where it is used to record, edit and broadcast the School’s daily award-winning weekday news programming.
