We are selling our 11 metre (36foot) long outside broadcast (OB) truck (vehicle)
Vehicle is recently out of production.
This truck could be easily put back into production as it was or be upgraded if you wanted. The truck would also make a fantastic display vehicle vehicle or training vehicle.
The tuck itself is coach built by A smith of Gt Bentley (ASGB). The coachwork on the truck is a full professional coach built body with proper insulation, strengthened walls, ceilings etc. Walls about 2-3 inches think) for soundproofing also PLEASE do not get this coachwork confused with cheap GRP or other similar coach bodies. This coachwork is suitable for any cold country or hot country .
Truck is plated at approx 22ton but is well under this weight when fully equipped. Truck has 3 axles, 2 front steering axles and 1 rear axle. Due to front steering twin axles, it has a good turning circle.
Truck is right hand drive (can be converted very easily to left hand drive though without to much hassle or work)
Engine in truck is a V8 turbo diesel engine (approx 230hp). Engine starts and stops with the ignition key. Starts first turn of key even when sitting a while. It doesn’t use that much fuel as you expect
. Gearbox in truck is the ultra reliable Allison MT653 automatic gearbox which was still in production upto a few years ago (think 2004 may have been). Is has 5 forward gears on gearbox) very fast gearbox for driving and very reliable. It has good engine braking on it also. Dashboad has monitor to monitor transmission temeperature also.
Truck has power steering of course.
All brakes on truck are full air brake ones and not air over hydraulic.
All tyres on truck are perfect and when last checked, showed signs of weather cracking in any of them. No spare tyre as was used but if needed, can supply 1 at extra cost.
Truck has a great AUTMATIC and manual greasing system operated within the can. This automatically sends grease to all moving parts on axles etc. (about maybe 50 tubes going fro greasing system at a guess). Doesn’t grease driveshaft though of course.
Truck has easy vehicle maintenance access panels, cover lifts off to access whole engine, turbo etc, Front grill lifs up to access front f truck including radiator, light fittings etc etc.
Truck has 2 expanding sides which will expand middle section (production) to about 3.8metres in width. Truck can be walked through with or without expanded sides out.
Truck has 3 main doors into OB section, 1 for each room and each door has slide in steps which slide into the body (and not in your working area in each room). There is also another door on the driver side also for emergency or could be used for another way into truck as is full height door.
OK, now the OB section.
Inside of OB section is about 2mtres high throughout the whole truck. The truck has lots of floor panels which lift to access wiring under the floor of course. All wiring under floor is of course in cable ducts etc
Seating positions:- 1x for caption/ extra VT, 4x for vision engineer and VT, 4x on main production desk with option of having upto 3x people behind in 2nd row production , 2x sound operators, 1 for mixer and 1 optional if needed
The truck has a hand rail system on a special built roof, and a rear access ladder which folds out when in use.
There is 5 main air conditioning units plus additional heaters for each room also
All are mounted in the lockers and on sliders for easy maintenance. All air con is temperature controlled and is rated to work even when the outside temperature is around 50degress celcius.
The truck comes with 1 pneumatic mast and compressor
The truck has 2 voltage regulators single phase, for technical equipment but can be bypassed if needed.
POWER INPUT into truck is 230volt single phase (63amp per input) air con can be run on a separate power input to technical equipment ,
The OB section will come fully wired, and will all equipment below as listed.
12x sony bv570p SDI camera chains (not included in price) Composite cameras can also be used in truck also.
4x digi beta VTRs (not included)
28x 10cinh production preview monitors (not included)
10inch and 14inch monitors in engineering , VT and sound not included. (sorry)
UMD system for production

Basically what you see in the photos is the equipment included. There is 4 power supplies in 1x engineering rack which is not included as they are being stored there only.
Truck comes with WIRING books, schematics, etc.
Should you need this truck delivered to you in the UK or Ireland, we can deliver with a driver if needed. If you want the truck shipping outside the UK, we can still possibly deliver. Ask us to confirm or can be sorted out later.
UK VAT of 17.5% has to be added on price if you are from the UK. If you are from the EU (not including UK) and have a Vat number, you do NOT need to pay the VAT, buyers outside the EU don’t need to pay VAT but may have to pay cusomts import on the truck possibly.
