TIFFEN CHECKS IR POLLUTION |
Posted: 25/11/2009 |
|
Tiffen International has developed a new range of optical filters to remove the infrared light that can affect cameras using CMOS and CCD image sensors. The new T1 IR filters are manufactured to high standards to effectively eliminate IR pollution and, only having a half-stop of attenuation, can be used as fix-and-forget extras.
T1 IR filters allow cameras to capture the full range of subtle red hues while maintaining crisp blacks and the entire wide colour gamut the cameras were designed for. The filters use Tiffen’s ColorCore technology with each effect captured between two pieces of glass, so the surfaces can be ground and polished to provide perfect parallelism. They contain no dichroic coating and so will not vignette green, magenta or cyan at wide angles. Filters are available in 77mm (thin profile wide-angle ring), 138mm, 4x4, 4x5.65 and 6.6x6.6 with other sizes supplied on request.

FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will introduce the MBP-100MP Multi Format Player at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 12-15 (Booth C5219). Posted: 26/10/2009 |
|
ATV Jordan, has joined the rapidly increasing number of broadcasters using the Broadcast Traffic Systems (BTS) Enterprise scheduling and sales management system. Commencing operation this month at the network's Amman headquarters, BTS Enterprise will be used to manage the playout of programmes as well as ensuring precise placement and transmission of advertisements and programme-related interstitials. BTS Enterprise was installed by BTS using its Internet-based installation process. Replacing an earlier scheduling device from a third-party source, Enterprise is both easier to operate and provides a wider range of features including tight integration with the technical infrastructure at ATV Jordan. |

Robotic Camera Control at regional BBC |
Posted: 16/03/2010 |
|
BBC Cambridge, a regional studio of the world-renowned broadcaster, has recently taken delivery of a Shotoku Broadcast 3-channel robotically controlled camera system. James Eddershaw, sales director for the camera support manufacturer made the announcement from Shotoku’s European headquarters located in Staines, UK.
System Integrators, Dega Broadcast Systems, were responsible for the technical design, installation and commissioning of the TV facilities. Shotoku worked closely with Dega on the specification and configuration of the camera robotics.
David Addey from Dega commented, “The equipment was easy to understand and install and was very efficiently commissioned on site by Shotoku, who also provided training for the operators.”
Shotoku systems can also be found at other BBC locations including London, Glasgow and Cardiff.
The system is comprised of two TG-18 and one TG-27 pan/tilt heads for exceptionally smooth and accurate performance at all speeds and shooting angles. Control is achieved by an external interface for production automation, and Shotoku’s TR-8T touch control panel. The configuration will support the daily production schedule of regional news and current affairs programs. |
