Fujinon HD lenses capture the 3D action in Golden Globe winning feature film AVATAR

Fujinon high definition lenses, as offered by exclusive UK/Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI Limited, played a major role in the production of the newly released Golden Globe winning 3D epic feature film AVATAR.
 
The Fujinon lenses were specially chosen by director James Cameron – himself a recipient of the Golden Globe Best Director award for the film in Los Angeles, January – in conjunction with Vince Pace, co-inventor of the Fusion 3D camera system used on the film and founder of Pace Technologies.
 
The lenses used on the ground-breaking AVATAR production included the Fujinon ENG style HA16x6.3BE lens, and a special model HA5x7B-W50 developed by Fujinon to meet the exacting stereographic standards of this revolutionary Pace/Cameron production.

DIGITAL VISION GRADES STREETDANCE

Digital Vision has broken new ground in Europe by announcing that its stereoscopic toolset is being used to grade the UK’s first 3D feature film StreetDance. German post production facility, Post Republic will begin grading the full length feature this month using Film Master 2009. The trailer and teaser have already been graded at the facility using the latest Film Master update and have been distributed worldwide.

Set in London and featuring some of Britain's top dance talent, the film tells the story of a street dance crew who, in a bid to win the UK Street Dance Championships are forced to team up with a group of classical dancers. Shot in 3D, rigs were supplied by LA based 3D specialist, Paradise FX who also supplied rigs for major features such as The Hole 3D and My Bloody Valentine.
