Posted: 16/03/2010 |
|
ShowTime, the new cost-effective package combining dynamic server control and live vision switching, will be introduced at NAB 2010. Based on proven technology from two leading broadcast hardware manufacturers, ShowTime brings the seamless integration of live sources and action replay within the grasp of the most demanding budgets. The ShowTime package comprises Hi Tech's industry standard server controllers, Brick House Video's award-winning digital vision switchers and supporting software modules at a compelling price. The system will be demonstrated in Brick House Video’s booth # N 4019, and Hi Tech Systems booth # N 3100.
ShowTime will work with any video server that responds to existing industry protocols, and a wide range of control panels is available to suit a multitude of applications. In operation, both mixer and server are directly controlled by the Hi Tech panel. The vision switcher performance is full broadcast specification with live asynchronous inputs, and a wide range of auxiliary monitoring and other features is included as standard. Being both compact and portable, ShowTime can be set up in minutes, and is easily transported between locations.
Martin Cook, Sales Coordinator for the product, said "Our view is that ShowTime is a perfect match for the industry requirement for portable integrated production units at realistic prices."
The system will begin shipping immediately following NAB2010. |

Robotic Camera Control at regional BBC |
Posted: 16/03/2010 |
|
BBC Cambridge, a regional studio of the world-renowned broadcaster, has recently taken delivery of a Shotoku Broadcast 3-channel robotically controlled camera system. James Eddershaw, sales director for the camera support manufacturer made the announcement from Shotoku’s European headquarters located in Staines, UK.
System Integrators, Dega Broadcast Systems, were responsible for the technical design, installation and commissioning of the TV facilities. Shotoku worked closely with Dega on the specification and configuration of the camera robotics.
David Addey from Dega commented, “The equipment was easy to understand and install and was very efficiently commissioned on site by Shotoku, who also provided training for the operators.”
Shotoku systems can also be found at other BBC locations including London, Glasgow and Cardiff.
The system is comprised of two TG-18 and one TG-27 pan/tilt heads for exceptionally smooth and accurate performance at all speeds and shooting angles. Control is achieved by an external interface for production automation, and Shotoku’s TR-8T touch control panel. The configuration will support the daily production schedule of regional news and current affairs programs. |

Autocue will launch the second generation of QMaster and QBox, the world’s only IP-based prompting system, at NAB 2010. The new release includes much faster rundown load times, an easy installation wizard, pre-configured studio and field profiles, and full complex language handling.
To complete the system, Autocue is also launching a new battery-powered wireless foot control and USB versions of their existing hand controllers. The new wireless foot control solution meets this need whilst offering studios a lot of flexibility in set up and configuration.”
The first generation of QMaster/ QBox first launched at NAB 2007, and has since been sold extensively to major broadcast networks throughout the world. Three years on it remains a completely unique product, and Autocue have been able to incorporate extensive customer feedback in to the second generation release.
