For sale privately by its cameraman owner. This PAL 16x9 / 4x3 Sony Digital Betacam is special. It's not an ex-hire camera; it's been carefully used and properly serviced by Sony Broadcast Basingstoke and by BBC Engineering. The camera displays: Drum 148, Tape running 54 . Opp 225 Threading count 421 - This Camera is fitted with a PAG-Lok battery plate and comes with its original tripod base plate. All in great shape and NO VAT.
It has had the rare BBC/ Sony Basingstoke Edge Board conversion preventative work done and thus is a solid, reliable example producing beautiful images.
Its (optional) Fujinon Broadcast A 15x8 BEVM-2B (with 2X doubler) has recently been serviced and re-calibrated is in excellent condition and has not been hired. All rings are smooth and the optics and zoom as new. It comes with a pan bar zoom command. The viewfinder is clean and sharp.
The camera comes with a hand-made, very effective leather cover. Quite simply it works perfectly and is a one-off. It’s “blimped” with 8 layers of padding to the right (tape transport/ head side) and three to the left side (to keep it cool), It has transparent windows and, (remarkably) is lighter than a PortaBrace cover!
The camera is available to be seen in central Paris, (near the Louvre) 10 minutes from the Eurostar/ Thalys/ Gare du Nord.
