Sony DVW 700 WSP

For sale privately by its cameraman owner (bilingual English/ French). This PAL 16x9 / 4x3 Sony Digital Betacam is special. It’s not an ex-hire camera; it has been kept carefully and properly serviced by Sony Broadcast Basingstoke and BBC Engineering. It has low hours: (Drum 148h, Tape running 54 h. Opp 225h Threading count 421) - as good as new really and no VAT.

This particular DVW 700 WSP really is a good one. It has had the rare BBC/ Sony Basingstoke Edge Board conversion preventative work done and thus is solid and reliable, it produces beautiful images and none of the quirks that DVW 700 cameras are prone to. With the edge board mod it is a very much better built camera than the 790 series.

This Camera is fitted with a PAG-Lok battery plate and comes with its original tripod base plate. An excellent, robust camera, immediately ready to produce beautiful shots for you too.

The Optional Fujinon Broadcast A 15x8 BEVM-2B (with 2X doubler) has recently been serviced and re-calibrated and has not been hired out. It's is in great condition, all rings are smooth and the optics and zoom as new. It comes with a pan bar zoom command. The viewfinder is in excellent shape, both clean and sharp.

The camera comes with a hand-made, very effective leather cover. Quite simply it works perfectly and is a one-off. It’s “blimped” with 8 layers of padding to the right (tape transport/ head side) and three to the left side (to keep it cool), It has transparent windows and, (remarkably) is lighter than a PortaBrace cover! It's a particularly quiet 700 WSP and wonderfully protected for transport. It comes with an easy to work under semi-transparent rain cover. Alternatively the camera comes with a near new PortaBrace cover a shoulder strap.

The camera is available to be seen in central Paris, (near the Louvre) 10 minutes from the Eurostar/ Thalys/ Gare du Nord.
