Panasonic AJ-D200

SD camera DVCPro ideal for student_steadicam practice

One of the first cameras I ever worked with professionally and served me very well. 3 1/3 inch sensors, Fuji 14x lens and all the usual gubbins you would expect of a full size camera (contact me for full spec). Records to DVCPro tapes giving up to 123 mins recording time.

Also comes with two Anton Bauer Hytron 50 batteries and charger. Both batteries hold their charge well, and will power the camera for close to three hours each.

Although the maintenance screen shows high operation hours (4907 hrs), the heads have not had much wear as the camera was used primarily as a studio feed and as such was not recording internally. (556 hrs running)

This camera would be ideal camera for a film student wanting to get familiar with operating a fully manual camera, or for someone wanting a cheap full size camera for practicing with a steadicam rig. Price negotiable to an extent - make me an offer!

ERTT ADOPTS FOR-A VIRTUAL STUDIO

Posted: 25/02/2010
FOR-A UK has supplied its digiStorm virtual studio technology and multiviewers to Thomson for installation at the Tunisian national broadcaster, ERTT in Tunis. As a part of a turnkey project by Thomson Grass Valley France SA, the virtual studio has been integrated with a Thomson vision mixer and Shotoku camera position sensors.

This digiStorm virtual studio system was configured to meet ERTT’s requirements that included working with the studio’s four cameras, and their associated motion sensors, using a dual-channel virtual set processor and two workstations to provide both programme and preview video of the virtual set for any two of the four cameras at one time. The two workstations run Brainstorm Multimedia’s eStudio 3D Graphics software, making a full ‘eStudio': one creation-and-play workstation and one play-only station. Other major system elements supplied by FOR-A that complete the system comprise a VRP-70HS virtual studio processor complete with chroma keyer, a DSC-100 data router and a tally interface.

Camera Corps to launch Mini Joystick Control at NAB

Posted: 25/02/2010
Shepperton-based Camera Corps, a global leader in robotic camera control systems, has chosen the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas for the worldwide launch of its new ultra-compact Mini Joystick Control. Mini Joystick Control is compatible with all Camera Corps and Egripment pan and tilt heads, including the award-winning Camera Corps Q-Ball.

"Mini Joystick Control was developed for applications such as commentator-camera control or for outside-broadcast vehicles where desk space is often very restricted," comments Camera Corps' founder and Managing Director Laurie Frost. "It is extremely easy to use and ideal for fast-response on-air operation. The joystick and control buttons have the same tactile responsiveness as those on our full-size controller, including fully adjustable pan, tilt and zoom speeds and reverses. Zoom is controlled by rotary twist of the joystick. Up to five separate heads can be operated from a single panel. Reverse settings and control speeds for each of the five channels can be stored in non-volatile internal memory."
