This camera is in fantastic condition, having only filmed for 382hours. It comes with a Canon YJ18 lens with doubler, camera mic, Ikegami camera plate, 4 x Endura 7s (all less that two years old), 4 x simultaneous battery charger, direct camera power supply and Portabrace bag. There's probably no other camera of the same model and make in as good condition as this one... in the world!

Jigsaw Systems, experts in pro video, pro audio, stereoscopic 3D and NLE, have announced that they recently acquired the new 3DRigs.com agency for the UK.

3DRigs.com (based in South Africa) and Jigsaw Systems launched the world-class 3D Pro Ultra Rig at this year's Broadcast Video Expo (BVE).


The 3D Pro Ultra Rig uses an onboard computer, coupled with Pro Rig software to calculate the correct interaxial and convergence settings – whether shooting stereoscopic 3D films using 35mm film, advanced digital cinema cameras or HD video cameras. The 3D Pro Ultra Rig also uses advanced motion control technology and robust hybrid stepper motors to set the cameras to their correct positions for optimum accuracy during operation. The onboard computer can be conveniently detached from the rig, allowing the computer to become a hand-held device.

The rig will soon be available with a wireless interface and joystick control to give outside broadcast units full on-the-fly 3D rig management for live action shoots.

John Sergeant on the Tourist Trail

Brief: Finishing work on new three part documentary for primetime ITV1
 
How it was done: John Sergeant’s 3x60 series focuses on the Britain that’s seen through the eyes of the over 32m tourists that flock to its shores every year, whether they be German bikers visiting the TT on the Isle of Man or Punjabi musicians in Wales for the Eisteddfod.
 
The brief for the series was to give it a naturalistic but rich feel. The series was shot during all too rare sunny British summer days, and the idea was to make the most of the weather and give the whole series a warm feel. Vignettes and secondary layers were thus used to create filters to enhance blue skies and golden sunshine and to bring the presenter to the foreground in busy shots during the Trooping Of The Colour and other such events.
 
The series was graded in Pogle by Tim O’Brien and the audio was completed in ProTools by Richard Ashley.

ENHANCED FINAL CUT PRO INTEGRATION FOR Gravity

Solid State Logic has announced a new Final Cut Pro® media import/export plug-in for the Gravity Media Asset Management system. The plug-in streamlines Apple Final Cut users import and export functions to and from Gravitys shared storage. The plug-in is designed to further integrate Gravitys media asset capabilities with Final Cut workgroups and end users.

Our engineering team has developed a plug-in that will greatly enhance the Gravity experience with the growing Final Cut Pro community, says Shaun McTernan, Gravity product manager for SSL. With the new plug-in, editors can now choose the Import from Gravity or Export to Gravity option in the Final Cut file menu, allowing full access to Gravity media assets. This enhancement will speed up the workflow for all Final Cut users.
