MURRAY PRO PICO PROGRAM METER

Audio PPMS in great condition, full working order.

As with all Murraypro audio metering, that vital parameter STEREO PHASE, is continuously monitored by "Traffic Light" logic; a normally green LED snapping to red immediately trouble is detected, instantly flagging the problem to busy Operators.



The phase indication is extremely reliable, and is vital in an editing environment, where full quality audio monitoring is often compromised by operational pressures. The "Pico's" deceptively simple traffic light logic provides this vital phase information instantly and automatically, preventing embarrasing ( and very expensive!) mistakes that may only become apparent much later.



Each channel is monitored by an ultra-bright red LED, which gives clear warning should the audio level exceed the +8dB peak level (="6" on the PPM scale), the threshold is adjustable and is set to trigger at +8.15dBV.7



Pico has carved a niche for itself in "audio-for-editing" equipment, and it is frequently specified in High End installations throughout the Industry. PPM monitoring is provided on 2 illuminated miniature meters. True PPM scaling (4dB/division) together with the classic fast attack (with minimal overshoot!) and slow decay times are ensured by the full specification precision meter drive amplifier.



Bright white LED illumination means the PPM's pointer and scale are clearly visible, even in subdued Control Area lighting.



Extremely low external magnetic field means that it can be located adjacent to CRT equipment without any effect on either colour purity or scan geometry.



Installation Engineers are particularly pleased with the high impedance looping inputs (with complimentary sex XLR-3s), ensuring that it can be "dropped in" to virtually any circuit configuration.



Mains power input to the internal PSU is via a 3 pin IEC connector, which eliminates external "wall warts".

Junger Audio Unveils New TV Audio Processor

Dynamics processing specialist Jnger Audio will be unveiling a new TV Audio Processor at this year’s NAB Convention in Las Vegas (Booth SU7206). The device, which is primarily designed for TV playout facilities, will provide Loudness control, Upmix and surround sound processing for up to eight channels of audio.

Morocco turns to Riedel

The Moroccan public broadcast network 2M has installed a comprehensive Riedel Artist digital matrix intercom installation to replace its former system. The new system from the German manufacturer of intercom, fiber and radio technology integrates 16 regional 2M broadcast studios via IP into the communications infrastructure.
At the heart of the installation are two Riedel Artist 128 mainframes connected via a redundant dual fiber ring offering up to 1,024x1,024 non-blocking ports. The frames are equipped with redundant power supplies, AIO connections and VoIP client cards.

A total of 67 Artist 2000 series and 23 Artist 3000 series control panels are used at the studio in Casablanca and the 16 regional studios. 2M uses 17 Riedel Connect IP interfaces to integrate the remote control panels of the regional studios. The Connect IP units allow for matrix-to-matrix connections and matrix-to-control panel connections as well as for the distribution of audio lines over IP. The interface converts one AES3 stream into compressed IP data and vice versa, thus integrating the whole installation.

Flexible, made-to-measure and even economical

State Theatre of Mecklenburg in Schwerin is one of the finest theatres in Germany. Since 1836, it has provided a stage for drama, ballet, opera, orchestral performances and even puppet shows. After closing in May 2009 to undergo an extensive renovation, the theatre reopened its doors at the beginning of November.
 
The first performances in the newly renovated theatre, the premiere of Yasmina Reza’s play Der Gott des Gemetzels and a concert by the Mecklenburg State Orchestra, on the 7th and 8th November respectively, were also the first under the guidance of the new stage management system. Designed and installed by the Hamburg-based system integrator Amptown System Company (ASC), the new system from TELEX/RTS satisfies the complex and diverse requirements of the Schwerin theatre. The nerve centre of the stage manager’s station is now a Cronus intercom matrix from RTS.
