FOR-A Reveals MBP-100MP Multi Format Player

Posted: 15/03/2010
FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will introduce the MBP-100MP Multi Format Player at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 12-15 (Booth C5219). It offers HD/SD-SDI baseband output of major file formats used in video production, including MXF files like XDCAM HD and P2HD.

“Many facilities are building file-based workflows, but are still working with multiple file formats,” said Hiro Tanoue, president, FOR-A Corporation of America. “Our new MBP-100MP allows you to collect those various file formats into one central location and play them out as baseband signals. It’s ideal for users with multiple system generated file formats in house who do not want to be limited by these file formats when importing footage.”

New USB Powered VGA to HDMI Scaler/Converter

Posted: 25/02/2010
Atlona Technologies, solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video accessories, has consistently created products that will allow users easy and affordable means of connecting their PC to their HDTV without spending a fortune on new video cards or expensive boxes that perform this task as a secondary function.  In suit, Atlona has added to their ever growing product line with their newest Switcher/Scaler, the AT-HDVieW.  This new unit designed to take both video and audio signal from a PC or Laptop, and upscale it to a digital HDMI output, was specifically made for the retail market. Users looking to upscale their computer viewing experience through their home entertainment center can now use the HDVieW to easily adapt their VGA outputs into HDMI.  Operating this device is as simple as plug and play, due to the units ability to automatically sense the native resolution of the desired display and scale the computer's output to match it.

FOR-A  will introduce Prism System — on-the-fly, multiple-output video clipping software — at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 12-15 (Booth C5219). With its built-in encoder, clipping, and trans-coding tools, Prism provides a complete video content repurposing solution for Web and mobile TV distribution.

ERTT ADOPTS FOR-A VIRTUAL STUDIO

Posted: 25/02/2010
FOR-A UK has supplied its digiStorm virtual studio technology and multiviewers to Thomson for installation at the Tunisian national broadcaster, ERTT in Tunis. As a part of a turnkey project by Thomson Grass Valley France SA, the virtual studio has been integrated with a Thomson vision mixer and Shotoku camera position sensors.

This digiStorm virtual studio system was configured to meet ERTT’s requirements that included working with the studio’s four cameras, and their associated motion sensors, using a dual-channel virtual set processor and two workstations to provide both programme and preview video of the virtual set for any two of the four cameras at one time. The two workstations run Brainstorm Multimedia’s eStudio 3D Graphics software, making a full ‘eStudio': one creation-and-play workstation and one play-only station. Other major system elements supplied by FOR-A that complete the system comprise a VRP-70HS virtual studio processor complete with chroma keyer, a DSC-100 data router and a tally interface.
