The IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) today announced that, in accordance with the objectives of its Lifelong Learning Manifesto, the association has supported the establishment of the IABM Educational Foundation. The foundation is registered as a charity in the U.K. and operates globally, independent of the IABM. Its mission is to deliver a broadcast and media technology skills certification scheme along with other initiatives that support technical education, skills, and career development in the sector.

Las Vegas, NVNAB Show, Booth # SL 3816 Today at NAB 2013, AJA Video Systems announced an OEM relationship with FilmLight through which its KONA 3G capture and playback card will support multi-channel ingest and playout for FilmLights new FLIP real-time image processor. FilmLight will bundle AJAs KONA 3G as part of FLIP, which is designed to take the power of complex Baselight color correction live on set. Leveraging KONA 3G, FLIP users will be able to easily preview the color grading of live raw footage with a range of HD video I/O channel combinations and can set FLIP to record or playback multiple HD-SDI streams such as 1 in and 3 out, 2 in and 2 out, 3 in and 1 out.

White Mark Designs A New Film Sound Facility In Moscow

After three years of intense work, UK studio design consultancy White Mark Ltd has completed a massive project in Moscow that involved designing and building a new, state of the art film sound facility for Russian company CineLab Ltd.

The new complex has 14 studios including three dubbing theatres built and accredited to Dolby Premier License criteria and a 5.1 mixing room for pre-mixes and TV/DVD work. It also features multiple edit and pre-production suites, sound design rooms and a large orchestral studio.
